My latest project: Jazz in Brazil

About me

A huge part of my education was breathing in Classical and Jazz music. I played the violin, piano and guitar and later started to sing.
I sang in bands, took lessons and at the age of 18 I went to study Jazz Vocals at Artez Conservatorium in Holland, where I was taught and inspired by some amazing singers/musicians of the jazz scene such as Humphrey Campbell, Greetje Kauffeld, Mark Murphy, Josee Koning, Deborah Brown and Jerry van Rooyen.
I performed worldwide and have extensive experience in a wide range of styles such as Jazz, Big Band, Jazz/Country/Blues, Musical and World Music.

I sing pure, live, organic music straight from the heart: exactly the way it’s supposed to be.

Others about me

Renato Pimentel – Music Producer & Engineer:
"Nienke has a beautiful warm voice, exquisitely contemporary, with a lot of technique.
Without competing with them she gets involved in the band's instruments with great rhythm and a lot of dynamics.
Even in moments of almost whispering her voice stands out among the arrangements.”

Listen to recordings with Johan Keus (guitar), Jan Scheffer (guitar),
Alexandre Vicente (bass), Wslley Risso (guitar) and Phil Maturano (drums).
